Saturday, September 19 | 3:00–6:00 PM ET
In Person (Location TBD) + Live Virtual Attendance
In this class, we’re going to the water. Spiritual baths, floor washes, and sprays utilize the element of water as a means of cleansing, protecting, removing unwanted conditions, drawing blessings, and spiritually preparing both people and places.
In this three-hour Conjure Class, we’ll explore the history and practice of spiritual baths and floor washes within Hoodoo (touching on foundations in the Kongo to modern Hoodoo practice). We’ll examine how water, plants, roots, colognes, perfumes, oils, household ingredients, prayer, and spiritual intention have been brought together to address specific conditions.
We’ll take a little break, then come back to craft three spiritual baths:
Uncrossing Bath
White Bath
Road Opener Bath
In-person participants will receive the supplies needed during class to formulate their own baths.
You’ll be able to work directly alongside, ask questions throughout the process, and leave with the baths you created during the class.
All class supplies are included with in-person registration.
Virtual participants will join the class live and receive the same historical instruction, formulation guidance, demonstrations, and opportunity to ask questions.
Please note that physical supplies are not included with virtual registration.
Access to the live class
Live discussion and Q&A
Replay access
A digital course workbook
Repeatable recipes and workings
A curated reading and resource list
This intensive is appropriate for beginners as well as practitioners who want to deepen their understanding of formulation.
No previous experience making spiritual baths, floor washes, or sprays is required.
It is intentionally designed as a Black learning space in which we can discuss spiritual technologies and applications.
